So much is moving along behind the scenes right now...the new album is coming along brilliantly. Tentative (but likely official) release date is APRIL 29, 2008 More importantly, it's that time again... It's been some time again, huh? "No need to fear my dear, still be doing this year, after year..." Y'all know that, right? Please do sit tight! ;-) "The Saga Continues..." is in the making. At least 12 tracks of pure unadulterated butta', baby! Displaying versatility like you've never seen. And, hell yes, there will be some mo' comics! AND WAY MO' SINGIN! A whole lot can happen in 3+ years. By 2008, you can have a copy in your own hands. Or at least be able take a listen on one of the many web sites I'm pumping my stuff on and then GO GET ONE! ;-) I'm crashing Canadian Music Week! March 8th at Neutral Lounge. It's been a great summer so far (no, it is NOT over until the end of September)! I played several shows with Sweet Bitch including opening for MIC Perri the Flipside and sharing the bill with Jen Militia (an amazing hip hop/punk band I'm happy I found...on myspace, where else?) :-P I'd like to thank Ian Morehead for drumming for us the past few shows while Flavio Monopoli was unavailable. Much appreciated. :-) Yes, Flav is back and will be re-joining the new and improved Sweet Bitch with Alex Brule on guitar and latest edition, Justin Carter on bass. Our next gig is August 29th (my birthday!) at the Reverb (with the afore-mentioned band, Jen Militia). Join us for a short set and party afterwards!  I am also being featured this month in PULP magazine, check it out: http://www.pulpmag.net/hearingaid/hearingaid06/lattedkyd-aug06.html I will be participating & performing at the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre's annual rally and march, "Take Back the Night" (see SHOW page for details) and we will have a couple more local shows this fall before going on hiatus for the winter so that I can focus on writing and recording the next release!!! "The Saga Continues..." is due out in the spring of 2007 and promises to offer more tracks than my first EP as well as exciting new flavours and yeah, MORE SINGING!!! Tuesday, May 23, 2006 I'm rather excited to annouce that Sweet Bitch and I will be opening for
the one and only MC Flipside aka MIC Perri at the release of his long awaited solo debut hip hop album, "Mind Control". He is one of my all-time favourite local talents, I much enjoyed his vocal stylings over drum & bass music waaay back in my rave days and it's only gotten better...I was able to see Perri's live set a few months ago at Fez Batik during C.M.W. and he's really at the top of his game, this performance is NOT to be missed. Wednesday, November 02, 2005 WHAAADUP? Long time...def. still on the grind.
I've got a set @ Sensual Lounge on College Street next Thursday November 10th around 11:30 pm. I'll be presenting some new, very raw material and will perform at least one track from the EP. It's a real laid back, casual, friendly vibe...an informal type jam where I just kick it and let y'all in on a some of the creativity that's been flowing. Members for my new live band, 'SWEET BITCH' have been selected and we have commenced rehearsing for our local live shows this winter (details coming soon...check SHOW listings). These promise to be some powerful performances and I'm sure amazing experiences and quite probably new material will emerge while working with this group of talented musicians...good times! :-P There are some other interesting things in the works as well but it's all 'hush-hush' right now 'cuz nothing's locked down... but think along the lines of new album and a video!!! Sunday, July 03, 2005I'll be performing "Fat Bottom Girls", a hip hop version of "Another One Bites the Dust" and another track to be determined with a live band at a Tribute to Queen on Sept. 3rd in Hamilton. This is going to be another amazing charity concert with proceeds from the event going to McMaster Sick Kids Hospital to support the needs of children with HIV including infants born to HIV positive mothers. I've been writing rhymes and melodies for the next EP and working hard on a marketing plan in hopes of sponsorship ...somehow, someway this white girl will be releasing more phunky music in '06! and the first show of the season is at my fave little hangout "The Hooch" on the 28th of April. I'll be performing at least one track from "So Begins the Saga..." and doing the hook on a new More or Les jam which will also be featured on his upcoming album. Woooooot! "Hood" has enjoyed nearly 1,500 plays at my space in only 3 months and was downloaded from Flavio Monopoli's website ( www.monopolimusic.com ) more than 1,000 times last year...it seems to have been selected as the first single with radio stations in the U.S. already following that trend. Many, many cool things are in the works including fresh tracks, a bunch of new photos and a LIVE BAND! Sunday, January 23, 2005 Friday nite's event at the Rivoli was a huge SUCCESS! Vanilla Queen Ent.
featuring the Ladies of Hip Hop raised approximately $900 for the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre! Awesome turn out for -30 degree weather. I'd like to thank Hannah Sung from MUCHMUSIC for hosting at the last minute in place of Jenn Hollett who was called away to Sri Lanka, the Rivoli for the venue, Jeff for working sound like no other, Twin Dragons for providing a kickboxing prize and the volunteers from the TRCC for covering the door. Dalia was wicked hype on the 1's and 2's as usual! An amazing show was put on by Nyceone, Belladonna, Tara Chase, Eternia, Sunny D., Shankhini and myself (if I do say so, hehe)... we absolutely threw down! Wednesday, September 01, 2004 Hellooo! Just finished up my birthday celebrations which included an impromtu performance of BANG ON @ the Hooch in honour of this tune being selected to air on the CBC Galaxie radio urban show in the very near future.
